The pile of rocks in this photo marks the halfway point of my 80-minute Zone 2 run, which I’ve decided to make a regular part of my routine.
While running, instead of listening to lectures as I usually do, I focused on my body, and practiced guiding myself through a meditation aloud.
I felt truly present in the moment!
Some embarrassing moments from yesterday came to mind. But as soon as I began describing the sensations in my feet aloud, those thoughts no longer seemed to matter much. I was fully immersed in the present moment!
And I’ve decided to make this another regular practice, a perfect companion to my 80-minute Zone 2 runs!
A new commitment to myself on the day I turn the calendar!
P.S. I don’t remember ever running freely in nature as a child. Perhaps I simply have no memory of it. But I’m so grateful that I’m creating those memories now!
